Hondo (Shemar Moore) and his team will hit two birds in one stone in an upcoming case in “S.W.A.T.” season 2 episode 19. The new assignment begins when a child is abducted leading them to track down a well-established syndicate.
The 10-second preview of “S.W.A.T.” season 2 episode 19 begins with the narrator saying, “A young witness becomes the victim.” A boy on his bike is shown watching his back as a seemingly dirty cop appears to be after him.
In the next scene, Luca (Kenny Johnson) calls the emergency hotline to report a missing child. The “S.W.A.T.” season 2 episode 19 synopsis reveals that the boy kidnapped is Luca and Street’s (Alex Russell) neighbor.
A teaser photo from CBS indicates Hondo’s team will be handling the case as it will later be connected to a “home invasion crew targeting domestic workers to gain entry into upscale homes.” It is possible that the abducted child is a witness to an ongoing case that could take down the syndicate. With an innocent boy’s life on the line, Hondo and the team’s job in “S.W.A.T.” season 2 episode 19 just becomes even more important.
The brief episode preview also suggests that Hondo will somehow feel connected to the missing child. “S.W.A.T.” season 2 episode 19 might offer another peek in Hondo’s childhood. This is a big possibility considering that veteran actress Debbie Allen will once again guest star as his mother, Charice Harrelson.
The “Grey’s Anatomy” star was introduced as Charice earlier this season when Hondo was overwhelmed by the death of a suspect. Allen will return in “S.W.A.T.” season 2 episode 19 possibly to offer comforting words to her son. In a previous interview with TV Insider, Allen said she has been long-time friends with Moore. But the CBS show gave them the first chance to work together.
Meanwhile, Mumford’s (Peter Onorati) “major career milestone” is also one of the highlights in “S.W.A.T.” season 2 episode 19. And the teasers assure fans that the entire team will be supporting him. Catch this episode on Thursday, April 18, at 10 p.m. ET on CBS.
