More than 220 House seats are rated as favoring Democrats in Sabato’s Crystal Ball’s latest assessment, after the University of Virginia forecaster revised 28 races on Oct. 20, CBS News reported.

The updated rating total is above the 218 seats needed for a House majority. Ratings reflect the forecaster’s assessment; they do not award seats or determine which party will control the chamber.

Voters will decide House control on Nov. 3. Any change in committee leadership would take effect when the next Congress convenes on Jan. 3, 2027.
