Sam Heughan and Caitriona Balfe have once again made headlines after leading the announcements for the release date of "Outlander" season 5. But apart from their on-screen romance, fans will have something to look forward to in the next installment, and it goes by the name of Adso.
Sam Heughan, Caitriona Balfe joined by a new cast member for 'Outlander' season 5
Avid fans of the same title book series by Diana Gabaldon will instantly recognize the name Adso. But to the TV series-only followers, they can be certain that it will not be difficult to like the new addition to the Fraser family.
Adso actually refers to the cat that Jamie (Heughan) brought home to the Fraser Ridge. His original intention of adopting Adso from the streets was so he could be a mouser and "guard" Claire's (Balfe) surgery. But she would end up being emotionally attached to the cat. "Outlander" season 5 will be based on Gabaldon's "The Fiery Cross," so Adso's TV debut happens at the perfect time.

One of the first sneak-peek photos of Adso is shared through the official “Outlander” Twitter page. Additionally, behind-the-scenes pictures of the cat who plays Adso with Balfe and Heughan in their Claire and Jamie costumes are all over the internet as well. Pet lovers will certainly be even more excited to see to show back with new episodes next year.
