Samsung Electronics revealed that it is set to launch its food platform at the upcoming IFA 2023, the world's largest consumer electronics and home appliances trade show. The event is taking place in Berlin, Germany, from Sept. 1 to Sept. 6.
The site was named Samsung Food and described as an AI nutritionist platform that will feature all of Samsung Electronics' services related to food. All of the services will be integrated into the new food platform, where users will have access to more than 160,000 recipes.
Everyone can use the Samsung Food platform as it will not only have Korean food recipes, but people can also find cuisines from around the world. On Thursday, Aug. 24, Samsung Electronics said that it will roll out this new food application, and users can easily obtain personalized recipes for their cooking.
Users can also avail of diet plan services via the Samsung Food platform, which is generated through artificial intelligence. As per The Korea Herald, the new food platform will include the Family Hub's Smart Recipe that Samsung previously launched.
Cooking is easy; people just need to search for specific recipes and save them in their accounts for later use. The AI can also help users with drawing up diet plans based on their requirements.
It was said that thousands of recipes on Samsung Food were added to the platform in partnership with a British food tech startup called Whisk. Samsung Electronics bought this company in 2019.
"Samsung has been introducing various appliances such as Family Hub refrigerators and Bespoke Cookers, differentiating the products to offer smart cooking experiences for users, using AI and Internet of Things technologies," Samsung's Home Internet of Things Business head, Park Chan Woo, said in a statement. "We expect Samsung Food to play the role of a personal nutritionist and offer highly personalized food experiences for the users."
Yonhap News Agency further quoted Park as saying, "We get to launch this new service, by integrating our food-related solutions that we've been building up and offering. Foods take up a significant portion of people's daily lives."
