According to recent reports, a mid-range Samsung Galaxy A series smartphone is on the cards. The reports surfaced after GeekBench browser listed Samsung SM-A9000. According to Geekbench website, the single core score for the device is 1446, while multi core score is 4134.
GSM Arena says that another Samsung device with similar specifications was listed in September, which was speculated to be the A9 model.
The features include:
- Qualcomm Snapdragon 620 processor and CPU having a dual quad-core big.LITTLE arrangement with four being Cortex-A72 cores and the other four being Cortex-A53 cores.
- 3GB RAM
- Runs Android Lollipop 5.1.1
- An Adreno 510 graphics processing unit.
Moreover, the handset is expected to come with 5.5-inch full HD AMOLED display with 1920 x 1080p resolution, 32 GB of internal storage, which can be expandable up to 128 GB via microSD card. According to Geek Says, it will be equipped with 16 MP rear camera and 5 MP front-facing camera.
Galaxy A9 could be priced around $500 and is expected to be launched before the end of this year. But, considering that Galaxy A8 was launched only in July this year, the launch of the successor could be delayed.
