Remember flip phones that created quite a stir in the markets few years back? With the advent of smartphones, however, the flip phones were soon history. Samsung now seems to once again revive the trend with a much cooler Android-powered flip phone.
Co-produced by China Telecom and Samsung, the latest smartphone, Samsung W2016, is now listed on Samsung’s China website, Tech 2 reported. The top-notch specifications include:
- Dual 3.9-inches Super AMOLED screen with 1280 x 768 pixel resolution
- Powered by 64-bit octa-core Exynos 7420 processor paired with 3GB RAM
- Built-in storage of 64 GB
- Runs Android 5.1.1 Lollipop
- 16 MP rear camera, 5 MP front camera
- 2000 mAh battery and support for both wired and non-wired charging
- Supports China Telecom 4G + Network Tianyi service, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GPS, GLONASS and microUSB
GSM Arena says that the handset, available in grey and gold, is said to cost CNY 9,999, equivalent to $1,565 or €1,470 at the current exchange rates. Also, it is available only in China for the time being.
