Sanven Technology is recalling about 1,950 Vevor BMX bikes after the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) cited missing chain guards that could expose riders to serious injury or a deadly crash.

Loose clothing could become caught in the drive chain, the CPSC said. The recall covers black bikes with 20-inch or 24-inch wheels, models SS24001 and SS24002. The model number is printed on the packaging, and the Vevor logo runs across the frame downtube.

Vevor sold the bikes at its stores nationwide and online from October 2024 through April 2026, for $152 to $188. The CPSC dated its recall notice Nov. 5, 2026.

Owners should stop riding and contact Sanven at recalling@vevor.com or through the company’s recall page to arrange a free chain guard and get installation tutorials. Sanven’s instructions ask owners to provide their name, shipping address and a photo showing the Vevor logo; proof of purchase is requested only if available. Riders may use the bicycle again after installing the guard.

The CPSC also cited labeling noncompliance but did not identify the specific deficiency. At the time of its notice, the agency had received no reports of incidents or injuries.
