Saudi Aramco posted a 34% rise in third-quarter net profit to $36.25 billion, according to its disclosure to the Tadawul stock exchange for the three months ended Sept. 30.

Net profit totaled 135.94 billion Saudi riyals, compared with 101 billion riyals in the same quarter a year earlier, the company said in a Tuesday statement.

The National reported disruption in the Strait of Hormuz and attacks on Aramco facilities in Saudi Arabia during the quarter.

Aramco President and Chief Executive Amin Nasser said geopolitical uncertainty and attacks on energy facilities had “serious implications for global energy security.” He said the company’s operating flexibility and supply network helped it keep delivering to customers through the period.
