‘Scream Queens’ season 2’s episode 5, entitled "Chanel Pour Homme-icide", will find Chanel desperately recruiting patients as new members of her clique. Meanwhile, Kirstie Alley revealed how she joined the cast as Nurse Hoffel.
The synopsis for episode 5 posted on Cartert Matt stated, “After the terrifying events of Halloween, Dean Munsch is forced to notify the authorities of the murders occurring at the C.U.R.E. Institute, which surprisingly leads to an influx of new patients. Fed up with doing dirty work, Chanel concocts a plan to put the new patients to use by recruiting them to join the Chanels. Meanwhile, Zayday and Chanel #5 pay a visit to someone with ties to the hospital’s past, and a new patient’s ailment causes the hospital staff to go a little mad.”
According to International Business Times, Dean Munsch’s fears of having her new institute shut down may finally be put to rest. In the preceding episodes, she was keen on keeping the murders at her new hospital secret since she was paranoid of losing it to the authorities. However, the incoming episode will find that Dean Munsch’s decision at divulging the killings will actually cause the number of inpatients to rise.
This will definitely keep Chanel busy. It seems that in her frustration, Chanel will recruit patients as new members of her mean girl club. The episode 5 promo featured a few glimpses of the new Chanels but it remains unclear how long these girls will be staying with the threat of Green Meanie following them around.
Meanwhile, Kirstie Alley’s Nurse Ingrid Marie Hoffel is set to return to make the Chanels’ lives a living nightmare. In the promo, she thrusts a handful of catheters towards Chanel and Chanel #3. She orders, “Rinse these catheter tubes. Careful. Some of them are still a little juicy.” Chanel #3 hastily drop these in her disgust as Nurse Hoffel walks away, seemingly amused with herself.
The 65-year old actress talked about how she came to join the cast in season 2 of the comedy-horror television series during an interview with ET Online. Alley plays Nurse Hoffel, the head nurse at C.U.R.E. Institute. She recalled, "My agent told me that Ryan Murphy wanted me for Scream Queens, so I called my friend John Travolta because he had just worked with Ryan on [The People v. O.J. Simpson]."
She continued, "And John said, 'Oh my god! You will love him, you will worship him and he is going to love you! So then when Ryan called I was very flattered and I was excited and here I am."
Alley also praised her co-stars Curtis and Roberts saying, "[Jamie’s] so good!... And the girls, Emma, oh my God! They're all so grooved in and so good. They speak very quickly, so I'm working on getting that style down."
‘Scream Queens’ season 2’s episode 5, entitled “Chanel Pour Homme-icide", is scheduled to premiere on Fox on November 1, 2016.
