Fans of Selena Gomez will be happy to know that their beloved pop icon recently emerged in one of her friends’ Instagram page. The singer-actress is looking very happy and is donning a big smile while on vacation following her reported mental rehabilitation and prior visits to the hospital.
Gomez was spotted in several photos with friends Connar Franklin and Bailee Madison. Various sources later confirmed that she is feeling much better now, especially around her friends and family.
A source of PEOPLE said the “Hotel Transylvania 3” voice actor is “looking forward to getting back to normalcy.” Meanwhile, an insider for Us Weekly added, “It took lots of energy, focus and therapy to get over that particular hump in her life.”
Gomez is one of the Hollywood stars who has been vocal about their mental health struggles. The “13 Reasons Why” executive producer previously said in a Harper’s Bazaar interview, “I’ve had a lot of issues with depression and anxiety, and I’ve been very vocal about it, but it’s not something I feel I’ll ever overcome. ... I think it’s a battle I’m gonna have to face for the rest of my life, and I’m okay with that because I know that I’m choosing myself over anything else. I’m starting my year off with that thought.”
Fans of Gomez were rocked with the news that her mental health struggle has peaked which led to her checking in to an East Coast psychiatric facility in October. Gomez’s emotional breakdown purportedly happened after she was taken to the hospital a couple of times due to low counts of white blood cells in her body.
However, Gomez is yet to face the media or address her fans about the reports of her hospitalizations and psychiatric rehab. Even the first reports claiming she returned to Los Angeles and has completed the treatment in November were immediately removed by online news sources. But there were follow-up reports that claimed Gomez was planning to take some time off from the limelight while she would continue seeing therapists and a psychiatrist.
