Mercedes-Benz Korea, BMW Korea, and five other car companies will voluntarily recall 13,863 units to fix faulty components in seven models, according to the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport said in a statement.
The seven companies also include Honda Korea Co., Tesla Korea, MAN Truck & Bus Korea Ltd., and Hanbul Motors, which imports PSA Group vehicles.
The problems vary, from faulty parking lights in Mercedes-Benz's GLE 450 4MATIC SUV, malfunctioning touch screen system in Tesla's Model S sedan, to faulty propeller shafts in BMW's 520d sedan.
The companies are providing or will offer repair and replacement services free of charge.
The ministry advises vehicle owners to visit designated repair and service centers.
