Former Maharashtra Chief Minister Sharad Pawar returned home from Mumbai’s Breach Candy Hospital on Saturday after his doctor reported that a bronchitis attack and a chest infection were both improving.

Dr. Pratit Samdani said Pawar was stable when discharged. Samdani recommended that he continue care at home and follow standard precautions. Pawar heads the Nationalist Congress Party (Sharadchandra Pawar).

His daughter, Supriya Sule, said he went to Ruby Hall Clinic in Pune on Nov. 2 after a bout of coughing. At the time, she said, he was undergoing tests and his health parameters were stable.

Ruby Hall Clinic discharged Pawar on Nov. 4, saying he was “stable and doing well” and would travel to his Mumbai residence. The statement was issued by Dr. Purvez K. Grant, the clinic’s chairman and managing trustee. Sule said the family planned a Breach Candy admission for further tests that day; EconoTimes previously covered Sule’s announcement of that plan.
