Sharjah Charity International is preparing a roughly 140-tonne shipment of winter aid for Gaza to help families cope with cold weather, the Emirates News Agency (WAM) reported.
Hamoud Al Afari, who directs UAE relief operations under Operation Chivalrous Knight 3, said the Winter Clothing initiative aims to serve one million beneficiaries in Gaza with clothing and blankets. He said relief shipments continue to leave Sharjah in partnership with SCI under the initiative.
SCI Executive Director Abdullah Sultan bin Khadim said the charity is contributing about 50,000 winter clothing items for different age groups, as well as heating supplies and blankets. Philanthropists among UAE citizens and residents provided the contributions, he said.
SCI has taken part in humanitarian programs under Operation Chivalrous Knight 3 since its launch in 2023, WAM reported. Sheikh Saqr bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, chairman of SCI’s board of directors, inspected the cargo at Sharjah International Airport’s Cargo Village on Sunday. The shipment is being prepared for dispatch by cargo aircraft and includes food and winter clothing for men, women and children.
EconoTimes previously reported on UAE relief deliveries, including two food convoys carrying 260 tonnes into Gaza.
