NEW YORK, Nov. 30, 2017 -- SoHo Places, a new space in the trendy SoHo neighborhood of New York City, is set to open its doors on December 4th to accommodate some of the more than 1.3 million freelancers in the city and the increasing demand for affordable meeting space.
With freelancers struggling to find a quiet and affordable place where they can meet with clients, concentrate and get their work done, SoHo Places offers a low-cost, guaranteed seating alternative. It’s a private and aesthetically pleasing modular work space for a new meeting experience that offers high-speed Internet, onsite concierge service, and complimentary high-end coffee.
Other amenities include SoHo Booking — a Facebook Messenger bot — to reserve a seat by date, time, duration, and digital currency payment options using Bitcoin.
Freelancing and sales professionals face particular challenges when it comes to holding client meetings and working remotely -- impossible to concentrate, lack of privacy when working in noisy coffee shops or hotel lobbies, assuring guaranteed seating ahead of time, and paying outrageous fees for shared office spaces.
“It’s no secret that some people have a hard time concentrating with the constant noise around them, not to mention our addiction to social content. SoHo Places creates a space that’s quiet, comfortable and when applying time pressure, one can experience a boost in productivity, not to mention avoiding meeting overruns. We take into consideration the needs of freelancers who seek a place that offers an environment to be creative and work in, along with the flexibility of not going to an office every day,” said Virginie Glaenzer, owner of SoHo Places.
By 2020, 40 percent of American workers will be freelancers. The on-demand economy will more than double in size, increasing 30 million on-demand employees to a workforce of 60 million strong.
SoHo Places is set to open on Monday, December 4th at 8am. The address is 435 Broome Street, NY, NY 10013. Reservations will open the week prior and will give $12 credits to all new customers for reservations in December 2017.
