Sobha closed 4.5% above its session volume-weighted average price on Oct. 21, the widest gap among four Nifty 500 stocks in a screen reported by The Economic Times.
The outlet reported that a StockEdge technical scan found all four stocks finished more than 1.5% above their VWAPs. The scan put Sobha’s closing price at ₹1,211.90 and its VWAP at ₹1,159.44.
Fractal Analytics closed at ₹785.90 against a VWAP of ₹765.12, about 2.7% higher. Ipca Laboratories finished at ₹1,918.90 against ₹1,883.27, a gap of about 1.9%. Sagility ended at ₹44.41 compared with ₹43.67, about 1.7% above its VWAP.
Sobha’s benchmark differs slightly on another data page. Pokharna Research, using NSE daily price files, lists ₹1,159.66 as the company’s average traded price for Oct. 21, compared with the scan’s ₹1,159.44 VWAP. Based on either figure, Sobha’s close was about 4.5% higher.
VWAP weights the prices at which a stock traded by the volume exchanged at each price. The percentages in the scan compare each closing price with that session benchmark; they do not show the change from the previous close.
StockEdge says its price scans use end-of-day data, update after the market closes and are intended as indicators for analysis. The screen gives the four stocks’ price relationships to VWAP, without identifying a company-specific reason for them.
