Song Hye Kyo and Song Joong Ki are no longer a husband and wife after the Seoul Family Court approved and finalized their divorce in July. The process was so swift that the former couple was able to regain their single statuses within just a month after the divorce papers were filed.
Now, since their split was announced, Hye Kyo stayed away from the public in South Korea but she continued to appear in events overseas such as in China and Monaco. The actress was heavily criticized for her “socializing” and looking very pretty and happy in social events because for the Koreans, they think that she should have stayed home and “mourn” the end of her marriage to Joong Ki.
The comments were so harsh that and they started spreading false rumors about the divorce as well, so Song Hye Kyo filed defamation cases against some people who are responsible for the malicious actions. So far, this is the only controversy that arose following her split from Song Joong Ki.
The actress’ first public appearance in her own country
Most probably, the negative feedback given to Hye Kyo made her decide not to participate in activities in South Korea. Now it has been months and she is making her first-ever public appearance in her hometown. On Oct. 21, she attended the launching event of the jewelry brand Chaumet and it was held in Seoul.
Hye Kyo's weightloss - What caused it?
According to Malay Mail, Song Hye Kyo was so elegant and looks really beautiful at that time however, fans noticed that she lost a great deal of weight. Everyone was quick to assume that this was due to her divorce from the “Arthdal Chronicles” actor but while this can be partly true, it is also possible that he lost weight due to her job.
The actress has been working left and right since June and aside from her promotional activities in various countries, she is also working on projects in China. She is set to appear in a movie after signing a contract with Wong Kar Wai’s Jet Tone Films in April. Finally, Song Hye Kyo is also busy with her studies as she recently registered as a student at an art school in New York so no wonder she looks slimmer these days.
