Song Joong Ki, Song Hye Kyo: Why did they divorce? Cheating is reportedly the ‘real’ reason for their split

Song Joong Ki and Song Hye Kyo called it quits and officially broke their marriage in June last year. In a shocking announcement, it was the actor who filed for divorce first and later on, it was reported that the actress learned about her ex-husband’s filing of the papers at the Seoul Family Court when she arrived home after attending to her overseas schedule.

Joong Ki did not really state why they have ended their short-lived marriage but asked the fans to be understanding instead and to respect their privacy. On the other hand, through her agency, United Artist Agency, Hye Kyo said that the cause of their split was the difference in personalities.

The rumored “truth” about the Song-Song split

Then again, some media speculated that there is a real reason behind their divorce and Song Joong Ki and Song Hye Kyo will not admit or divulge it to the public. The pair are said to be having infidelity issues that ultimately led to their separation.

Apple Daily, a Taiwanese media outlet, reported that the 34-year-old actor was having an extra-marital affair with his wife’s make-up artist. It was alleged that their illicit relationship has been going on for six months before Hye Kyo made the discovery. The outlet went on to report that the actor and the make-up artist were already planning to have their own “love nest” where they can get together when they want to but everything fell apart when Hye Kyo found out.

In any case, it was alleged in another report that Song Hye Kyo was also having an affair with her co-star and leading man Park Bo Gum. The rumors started shortly after Song Joong Ki filed for divorce but this was denied by Blossom Entertainment.

Apparently, the two were rumored to be in a relationship since they starred as a couple in the drama called “Encounter.” Bo Gum’s agency warned people that it would take strict legal action for those who are spreading false news and allegations. As for the make-up artist rumored with Song Joong Ki, she took a selfie photo with Hye Kyo to debunk the affair rumors.

Meanwhile, while the cheating rumors seems to be false allegations, one thing that can be said as true is the fact that Song Joong Ki and Song Hye Kyo have been living separately for a few months before the divorce was formally filed. The couple’s neighbors attested that the couple is not coming home in their marital home as for quote some time, there is no trash coming out from it before their split was announced.
