Song Joong Ki and Song Hye Kyo are singles now after their divorce was approved by the Seoul Family Court. The ex-couple separated without going through trial as they chose to settle their separation amicably. This means that both parties simply agreed to no alimony and division of properties to settle things fast.
This means that they will get to keep what they had before and after their marriage plus, there will be no spousal support anymore. The whole process only took less than a month since Joong Ki filed for divorce from Hye Kyo.
Officially divorced after the Seoul Family Court approved and sealed their application for an amicable divorce settlement. The approval was announced early this week, and there was no commotion despite the fact that the people involved are high-profile personalities.
The finalization of the divorce
The judge handed down the decision on July 22, and only Song Joong Ki and Song Hye Kyo’s respective lawyers had appeared in the court. As per SBS News, the court accepted the amicable settlement, so it only took merely five minutes for the official divorce to be announced.
The papers are complete, and there was no need for further trials on any case concerning their marriage, so it ended hastily. Joong Ki and Hye Kyo have been married for less than two years, and they have no child yet, and this played a big part in allowing their case to end fast and smoothly.
Who was hurt the most?
It was reported that Song Joong Ki lost some projects due to his divorce from Song Hye Kyo. It was added that he was also affected financially as the job offers slid, according to Malay Mail. Although this is not confirmed, it can be noted that his drama “Arthdal Chronicles” suffered a bit due to the decline of viewers in the second part of the drama.
The couple is moving on
Song Hye Kyo recently had her first interview after her divorce, and she said that she would be working a bit more and then she will take a break. The actress said that she wants to spend some time on herself so she will be out of the limelight in the latter part of the year.
“This year, I will take some personal time off,” she told Tatler magazine. “I need to have some time for myself and apart from events like these, I will take it easy.”
On the other hand, Song Joong Ki is back to work after taking a short break since he announced his split from his wife. He was not visible for nearly a month, and now he is back to filming a movie. He still has some projects to complete after his movie filming schedule.
