South Korean President Lee Jae Myung will attend an Oct. 23 meeting on easing regulations for advanced industries and venture companies, his office said Tuesday, as the government pursues regional growth.

Officials are expected to present solutions to regulatory obstacles affecting semiconductors, robotics, biotechnology, autonomous vehicles and artificial intelligence data centers. The agenda also includes discussion of rules the administration considers unnecessary for the growth of venture companies.

The meeting is the second plenary session of the regulation rationalization committee; its first was held in April. Lee’s administration has tied its regulatory efforts to regional development and its goal of gaining global leadership in advanced industries.

Officials from the presidential office and ministries responsible for finance, science, interior affairs, industry, health, labor and land are expected to attend, along with experts from local companies and the wider private sector. They are due to meet Oct. 23, when officials are expected to present their proposals.
