“Steven Universe” season 6 is happening after the show’s panel announced its return via the New York Comic Con that took place in early October. Rebecca Sugar and the cast of the series attended the event and they revealed many details about the upcoming chapter.
The voice actors and show creator of “Steven Universe” season 6 also surprised the fans with special performances during the NYCC. Sugar, Deedee Magno-Hall (Pearl), Estelle (Garnet) and Michaela Dietz (Amethyst) sang some of the songs that were featured in the “Steven Universe: The Movie” and the audience were delighted at the presentation.
Show’s new intro and title unveiled
Still at the NYCC, it was disclosed that “Steven Universe” season 6 will return with many changes and it includes a new storyline, opening sequence and show title. As the Los Angeles Times reported, “Steven Universe” season 6 will be called the “Steven Universe Future,” and in the description, it was said that Steven will be facing new issues but they are all about himself.
“After saving the universe, Steven is still at it, tying up every loose end,” the description reads. “But as he runs out of other people’s problems to solve, he’ll finally have to face his own.”
The new theme song for the sixth season
“Steven Universe” season 6 will have a different theme song. In the last five chapters, the fans have been hearing the same tune of “We Are the Crystal Gems” at the opening of the show but this time, the viewers will hear a new song titled “Happily Ever After,” as per TV Guide. It was changed since it is now the most fitting track as Steven matures. He is now 16 years old and will have a broader responsibility now.
This is actually not an entirely new song because it was already introduced in “Steven Universe: The Movie.” It is the film’s official soundtrack and the lyrics talk about looking forward to a bright future so fans should expect many changes in the Beach City with the grown-up Steven protecting their home.
“Steven Universe” season 6 is sure to come but Cartoon Network has yet to announce a premiere date.
