“Steven Universe” season 6 has been confirmed to return, but it will be back under the new title called “Steven Universe Future.” Apparently, the title already suggested that it will offer a new storyline as the teenage protagonist faces his future that will surely be filled with new adventures and problems to solve.
“Future is extremely meaningful to me because it’s a story we can only tell now, after the events of the original show, and the events of the movie,” Entertainment Weekly quoted Rebecca Sugar, the series creator, as saying in a statement. “This limited series is, for many of us who have been with the crew since the very beginning, our chance to reflect and to give the last few pieces of the puzzle we’ve been designing since 2012.”
What to expect in the new installment
The video teaser for “Steven Universe” season 6 was released by Cartoon Network almost two weeks ago, and in it, everyone can see that Steven and the Gems’ world is quite different today, and the titular main protagonist is even driving now. Things did not start smoothly in this new season because, as shown in the preview, Steven is having a hard time because he is still haunted by memories of his past, and Pink Diamond shows up in his dreams.
But while he already made it up to Spinel for the mistakes of his mother, it is uncertain what’s next will happen with Steven, but it was mentioned in the “Steven Universe” season 6, a.k.a. “Steven Universe Future” description that he will start to manifest his new powers but with difficulty since he can’t control it yet.
