The next installment of “Stranger Things” has been delayed as the filming was canceled in March. As everyone already knows, many film and TV productions have been postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
“Stranger Things” season 4 was supposed to wrap up filming in August, but apparently, the production team was not able to follow through with the original schedule. Everyone was forced to stop working, but the good news is that it was revealed today filming had resumed already.
Filming cameras begin to roll again
In a tweet on the show’s official account, the staff announced that they are back on the set to continue filming “Stranger Things” season 4. On Oct. 2, a picture of a filming slate was posted without any caption but that was enough to relay the message that they are all back at work.
Capital FM also shared photos of the filming site where the cast members were pictured acting out their scenes. The outlet stated that it appears they are on the set of the Hawkins Middle School.
On the other hand, it is already common knowledge that the cast is filming from various places. In the photos shared, one was posted by fans who spotted the filming in Atlanta. They said that this scene appears to be in an arcade, similar to the scene that was shown in the third season.
What to expect - Plot prediction and theory
Meanwhile, it was already confirmed that Hopper (David Harbour) is returning on “Stranger Things” season 4. He was assumed to be dead in the finale of season 3 but his body was not found. It turned out that he was transported to Russia as can be seen in the teaser for the upcoming installment.
He is in prison located somewhere in a snowy wasteland in Russia. It was predicted that Eleven and the gang will also be transported here and a new story will begin. The tagline on the preview states: “We are not in Hawkins anymore” and it just fits since they will be in Russia.
There is a theory that in “Stranger Things” season 4, another lab similar to Hawkins exists and youths who have gifts like Eleven are being observed and studied there. It is likely that she will meet more people like here in this strange country.
Finally, the premiere date of “Stranger Things” season 4 is uncertain at this time. This is because no one can predict if they can continuously film until everything is done since the COVID-19 situation is hard to predict.
