SPRINGFIELD, Mass., May 31, 2017 -- Strategic Information Resources (SIR), a trusted provider of merged credit reports, appraisal management services, independent verifications and background screening services for a wide array of businesses and professions for almost a century, announces completion of a third-party audit attesting to its achievement of the demanding requirements of the SOC 2 Type 2 security standards.
The rigorous examinations that led to the achievements were administered by the professional IT assurance and compliance staff at 360 Advanced, a respected national Qualified Security Assessor, HITRUST CSF Assessor and CPA firm based in St. Petersburg, FL. 360 Advanced has clients in 30 U.S. states, Europe, South and Central America and the Pacific Rim.
The SOC 2 Type 2, developed by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), is the most widely recognized authoritative guidance that provides service organizations a uniform method for disclosing independently assessed information about the design and operation of internal controls. Companies completing an annual SOC 2 Type 2 examination can demonstrate a substantially higher level of assurance and operational visibility than companies that have not completed the exam.
“We are committed to the data security process. This achievement puts us in a great position to support our clients through their vendor due diligence needs, and also demonstrates that SIR’s business systems are aligned with IT and data security best practices,” observed Jackie Drziak, SIR Vice President for Compliance. “The SOC 2 Type 2 examination touched every single business unit at SIR and every control and practice that we follow. We feel very confident that the process has made a strong company stronger.”
