A new exclusive by TVLine previews the new intro credits for "Suits" Season 8.
Season 7 sparked the departure of Mike Ross and Rachel Zane, played by Patrick J. Adams and Meghan Markle, respectively. The two, while being the youngest of the cast, had to bow out due to personal reasons, much to the disappointment of fans.
The series also had to deal with the departure of Gina Torres, who portrayed Jessica Pearson, the cunning co-founder and former managing partner of Pearson Hardman. By the end of the season, the "Suits" cast was down three main characters who had been with the series from the start. Thankfully, "Suits" Season 8 seems to be coming back in full force with what seems to be a bigger main cast.
The show's intro credits have been updated to include the silhouettes of the new cast members, namely Dulé Hill, who portrays Alex Williams; Amanda Schull, who portrays Katrina Bennett; and Katherine Heigl, who plays Samantha Wheeler.
Much interest has been speculated about Samantha, Heigl's character in “Suits” Season 8. In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Heigl mentioned that her character may take on a more antagonistic role to Gabriel Macht's Harvey Spectre.
Fans of the show missing Patrick J. Adams and Meghan Markle and who may not be ready for too many changes will be glad to know that "Greenback Boogie" by Ima Robot is still the show's theme song.
For those who look forward to Adams making some sort of comeback or cameo sometime in “Suits” Season 8, Adams mentioned in an interview that he is definitely open to reprising the role of Mike Ross but not sometime in the near future. The actor stated that he is currently in a phase in his life where he wants to explore other career possibilities. “Suits” Season 8 is expected to air this Wednesday, July 18.
