‘Supergirl’ season 2’s episode 7, entitled "The Darkest Place", will feature Kara meeting the super villain Cyborg Superman. The two will battle following her attempts to rescue Mon-El from CADMUS. Meanwhile, the Guardian is accused of murder and struggles to prove his innocence.
The synopsis for “The Darkest Place” posted on Comicbook Movie stated, “While Guardian (Mehcad Brooks) tries to clear his name after being accused of a murder committed by another vigilante, Supergirl (Melissa Benoist) heads out on a solo mission to rescue Mon-El (Chris Wood) who has been captured by CADMUS. While fighting to free Mon-El, Supergirl comes face to face with Cyborg Superman.”
It seems that Supergirl’s fight for good is neverending. After finding out that Jimmy has Taken it upon himself to fight crime in National City as the masked vigilante The Guardian and having to contend with the Parasite, she is set to battle the iconic DC super villain Cyborg Superman following a daring rescue mission to free Mon-El from the clutches of Project CADMUS.
Cyborg Superman, also known as The Cyborg, is the evil and cybernetic counterpart of the Man of Steel himself. He has a robotic body designed with Kryptonian technology and genetics, and possesses powers akin to Superman.
The promo showed Hank Henshaw attacking Supergirl, but without his iconic costume and robotic enhancements. It may be that the real Hank was killed and replaced by Martian Manhunter.
In the original DC comic books, Hank blamed Superman for the death of his wife Terri and swore revenge by impersonating the Man of Steel. Hank used Superman's birthing matrix to create an identical body but with cybernetic parts.
The photographs posted on TV Fanatic showed Mon-El behind bars at CADMUS. It seems that CADMUS has taken Mon-El to set a trap for Kara. It may have worked as another photograph showed the heroine also in captivity.
The Guardian will also run into some problems of his own after being accused of murder committed by another masked vigilante.
‘Supergirl’ season 2’s episode 7, entitled "The Darkest Place", is scheduled to air on The CW on November 21, 2016. It was directed by Glen Winter and written by Robert Rovner and Paula Yoo. It will be followed by episode 8, entitled “Medusa”, scheduled for November 28.
