‘Supernatural’ season 12’s episode 20, titled “Twigs & Twine & Tasha Banes,” will follow Sam and Dean as they help witch twins after their mother goes missing. Meanwhile, Mary will begin to doubt her alliance with the British Men of Letters.
The synopsis for “Twigs & Twine & Tasha Banes” posted on TV Guide reads, “Alicia Banes (Kara Royster) calls Mary (guest star Samantha Smith) for help after her mother goes missing. Sam (Jared Padalecki) answers Mary's phone and he and Dean (Jensen Ackles) head out to help Alicia and her twin brother find their mother who was hunting a powerful witch. Meanwhile, Mary starts to have some doubts about the British Men of Letters.”
The upcoming episode will be an action-packed one for Mary and her boys. Sam and Dean go on a mission to help Alicia Banes and her twin brother after she calls Mary for help in locating their missing mother, who turned out to be hunting a powerful witch.
It seems that Mary, herself, will be unable to join the hunt since she has been held by Mr. Ketch (David Haydn-Jones), the killer working for the shadowy British Men of Letters (BMOL). The promo shows Mary retaliating and fighting off Mr. Ketch. Although she is able to defend herself at first, Mr. Ketch eventually contains her and prepares some tools for torture.
During an interview with TVLine, executive producer Andrew Dabb teased that Mr. Ketch puts duty over emotions first. Although he and Mary shared a romantic past, this will not deter him from successfully carrying out orders.
Dabb explained, “With Mr. Ketch, there’s a really strong dividing line between personal and professional… he’s been conditioned his entire life to follow orders. So for him to take a stand against following an order like that, it would be really a drastic change to his character.”
He continued, “I’m not saying it might not happen, but he is not the one with a very obvious soft underbelly. When the chips are down, he’s going to revert to what he’s very comfortable with, and that’s doing as he’s told and killing a lot of people.”
‘Supernatural’ season 12’s episode 20, titled “Twigs & Twine & Tasha Banes,” is scheduled to be released on The CW on May 4, 2017. It was directed by Richard Speight, Jr. and written by Steve Yockey. It will be followed by episode 21, titled "There's Something About Mary," scheduled to be released on May 11 and directed by PJ Pesce.
