Switzerland is due to publish October inflation data Tuesday, with market calendars forecasting a faster annual increase and USD/CHF near 0.8180 as traders await a new measure of price pressures.

The Federal Statistical Office (FSO) scheduled the report for 2:30 a.m. ET Tuesday (07:30 UTC). Market calendars project annual CPI inflation of 1.3%, versus September’s 1.0%, and no monthly change. Those numbers remain forecasts until the FSO releases the October data.

FXStreet reported at 1:14 a.m. ET (06:14 UTC) that USD/CHF was near 0.8180 during Asian trading after an initial rise faded. The quote shows how many Swiss francs one U.S. dollar buys. EconoTimes previously covered FXStreet Put USD/CHF Near Two-Week High Before Fed Rate Hold.

The FSO’s September data put the CPI at 101.5 points on an index that sets December 2025 at 100, matching August’s level. Annual inflation for the month was 1.0%. Real retail sales rose 1.6% from a year earlier in September, down from an upwardly revised 3.9% growth in August, according to the FSO.

Swissinfo reported that October’s procure.ch/UBS manufacturing PMI rose to 56.7 from 55.3 in September. The reading stayed above 50, the threshold separating expansion from contraction, for an eighth consecutive month; Swissinfo attributed the figures to UBS and procure.ch.

Under the Swiss National Bank’s (SNB) strategy, price stability means annual CPI inflation below 2%. If realized, the 1.3% market forecast would remain below that threshold. The SNB left its policy rate at 0% on Sept. 24. Its conditional outlook put average annual inflation at 0.7% in 2026, 0.8% in 2027 and 0.8% in 2028 if the rate stayed at 0% through the forecast horizon.

The SNB’s next scheduled monetary policy assessment is Dec. 10.
