“Sword Art Online: Alicization – War of Underworld” is finally airing the first episode of its part 2, and this is good news since it has been more than half a year since the last episode was aired. This is the second part of the series, and it will cover the novel series’ fifteenth volume titled “Alicization Invading” up to the eighteenth volume titled “Alicization Lasting.”
Now, the first two episodes of the latest “Sword Art Online: Alicization – War of Underworld” was unveiled at the Anime Fest during the recent New York Comic-Con. The fans who were at the event shared that episode 1 did not disappoint them, and they would like to see the next one as soon as possible.
Darker theme adapted for the episodes
The upcoming new episode of “Sword Art Online: Alicization – War of Underworld” is part of the third season of this novel-based anime. It was said to be the most ambitious season in the whole series because it is featuring the longest story arc in the novel. In fact, it is so long that this third season was divided into three cours, and the first part already aired in October last year and ended in March this year.
According to Comic Book, the second part of the “Sword Art Online: Alicization – War of Underworld” will explore darker themes compared to the first. The story will begin with Kirito being in tough situations, and this is already a hint that fans will witness some manacing encounters ahead.
Plot summary
“Sword Art Online: Alicization – War of Underworld” anime’s synopsis has been posted online. It is focused on Kirito and Eugeo, a boy he met while wandering around to escape from the virtual world. As posted on Crunchyroll, Kirito doesn't have a full recollection of what happened to him before he logged in, so to get some answers, he explored the place to look for clues, then he met the boy.
It was added that Kirito and Eugeo bonded as he looks for a way to log out in the virtual world. Meanwhile, “Sword Art Online: Alicization – War of Underworld” episode 1 will show Kirito still in a comatose state, and he’s wearing a target on his head because the Integrity Knights and others are planning to execute Kirito for going against the Axiom Church. Knowing that Kirito is in danger, Alice will protect him.

“Sword Art Online: Alicization – War of Underworld” episode 1 will premiere on Oct. 12. Fans can watch the anime on Crunchyroll, FunimationNow!, HIDIVE, and Hulu at 9:30 a.m. PT.
