“Sword Art Online: Alicization – War of Underworld” episode 23 is up next and as the story develops, the end of this Alicization arc is getting closer. Real people in the Underworld are also coming out of the virtual world one by one so it is obviously ending.

Prior to the events in the 23rd episode, fans saw how Alice tried her best to show the public that she is not a threat. In the “Sword Art Online: Alicization – War of Underworld” episode 22 simply titled “Alice” Rinko arranged an interview to introduce the Underworld’s Princess of Light to the world.
She was introduced as the first autonomous Artificial Intelligence. They also revealed that she has her Fluctlight embedded into an android. In the middle of the interview, Alice suddenly fled and it turned out that she sensed that Kirito has woken up so she rushed out to go to his side.
This happened as Kirito and Asuna finally got out of the virtual world after spending 200 years there. In the real world, it has only been a month since they failed to log out with Alice. The two were in the hospital and finally, Kirito has woken up and saw Alice.
The first thing that Kirito told Alice after greeting her was that her sister Selka has gone into Deep Freeze at the Central Cathedral to wait for her return. Alice got so emotional and Kirito has a request - he asked Higa to delete all of his and Asuna’s memories during the 200 years they spent in the UW.
At this point, the Ocean Turtle facility is in danger of being abolished by the government. Kikuoka told Kirito and Asuna that he has a plan to protect the residents and the entire Underworld. His plan was to create a copy of Kirito and to carry out his plan, he made people believe he is already dead.

“Sword Art Online: Alicization – War of Underworld” episode 23 has been titled “New World” and it is expected to show how Kirito will return to his life in the real world. He still remembers Eugeo though and is mourning his death.
It was also learned that Kirito and Asuna became the king and queen in the UW as the people were grateful for what they did. They were voted to lead them and reigned for 200 years.
In any case, "Sword Art Online: Alicization – War of Underworld" episode 23 will be released on Sep.t 20 as per Otakukart. It will be available on Crunchyroll, Hulu, HIDIVE, Funimation and AnimeLab.
