“Sword Art Online: Alicization - War of Underworld” is already on its final cour in the third season, and the second part is coming up soon. It means that the anime is moving fast to its finale that will end and reveal the outcome of Kirito and Alice’s journey.
Anime News Network revealed that “Sword Art Online: Alicization - War of Underworld” is ending in April 2020 although this conclusion of the digital adventure is sad, fans are looking forward to it because everything would have fallen into place by that time. It means the viewers will know what will happen to Alice, Kirito, and how the latter will get back with Asuna.

“Sword Art Online: Alicization - War of Underworld” is the longest arc so far, with four cour in the third season. After this, the last or fourth season will commence for its final run. The upcoming episodes will pick up from the time after Alice was captured by Vecta, and Becouli and Asuna are chasing after them to save the Priestess of Light.
Kirito, on the other hand, has not regained his consciousness yet and still in “vegetable” state. However, it may be time for him to wake up already as the battle between the Dark Territory and the Human Empire is getting out of hand.
Moreover, as the Human Empire is getting invaded, Integrity Knight Bercouli is set to go on an all-out war against the army of the Dark Territory. Alice will not be able to help; thus, they will be fighting without much help from their powerful allies. It is also yet to see how they will save Alice from the evil plans of Vecta.
Release date
Finally, the last part of the third season of “Sword Art Online: Alicization - War of Underworld” has a release date already. As announced by Toonami via Facebook, the anime is returning on Jan. 18 at 12 a.m.
“Sword Art Online: Alicization - War of Underworld” will offer a total of 23 episodes for the last season. Fans can watch it through several streaming sites that include Crunchyroll, Hulu, and FunimationNow.
