There was never any doubt that Eugeo and Kirito are currently in a computer simulation, but it can sometimes be easy to forget this fact. Viewers were reminded of it rather forcefully in “Sword Art Online” Season 3 Episode 10 when Eugeo literally blew his eye out in an effort to save his pages from being raped. It would seem that his actions also led to a computer glitch and the long-awaited reunion with Alice.
“Sword Art Online” Season 3 Episode 10 touched on some very serious themes that are rarely ever addressed by mainstream anime. In being forced to choose between obeying the Taboo Index or allowing such an abominable act as rape to be committed in front of him, Eugeo commits a crime. Based on the restrictions placed upon him, this should have been impossible, and yet he managed to do it.
His effort resulted in his right eye literally exploding as he drew his sword and cut off Humbert’s arm. This led to the crime being stopped, but not to the death of his target. It was Kirito, in the end, who managed to actually kill someone in Raios when he cut off both of his arms. It was then that a computer glitch occurred and an admin of sorts made an appearance in “Sword Art Online” Season 3 Episode 10.
For those who are worried that Eugeo has permanently lost his right eye, however, they can rest assured. His sight was restored and just in time too. By the end of “Sword Art Online” Season 3 Episode 10, the pair finally met up with Alice, the person who they set off to find.
What awaits these characters in their reunion? Will Alice actually remember her old friends or has she completely changed? Viewers can watch “Sword Art Online” Season 3 Episode 10 right now on Crunchyroll or other legitimate anime streaming portals.
