Türkiye and Uzbekistan signed five agreements covering trade, border data, social security and business ties after their presidents met at Ankara’s Presidential Complex ahead of the 13th Organization of Turkic States summit.

Türkiye’s Directorate of Communications said the accords include revisions to the countries’ preferential trade arrangement and a 2022 protocol for advance information on vehicles and goods crossing their borders. Two agreements address social security: one establishes the bilateral arrangement, while the other sets out its implementation.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed the agreement establishing a high-level council to support the business community. Officials from both governments signed the other four, the directorate said.

The Directorate of Communications said summit events in Ankara were scheduled for Oct. 29-30. The Organization of Turkic States said the leaders’ meeting is scheduled for Oct. 30, after preparatory meetings. EconoTimes previously previewed the Ankara summit.
