Taco Bell fans are raving about a simple yet game-changing hack for their beloved Nacho Fries. By mixing a packet of hot sauce directly into the nacho cheese, customers are creating a spicier, more flavorful dipping sauce, elevating the already iconic fast-food item.

Taco Bell’s Nacho Fries Get a Flavor Boost with a Simple Hot Sauce and Cheese Hack

Taco Bell has become known for its wild and inventive menu items, from the Doritos Locos Taco to the now-retired Naked Chicken Chalupa, featuring a crispy fried chicken shell. However, among all the tantalizing creations the fast-food chain has introduced over the years, few can rival the iconic Nacho Fries in hype and ingenuity.

First introduced in 2018, Nacho Fries (330 calories) quickly became a fan favorite. The dish features crispy fries seasoned with Mexican spices and served with a cup of nacho cheese sauce for dipping. Their initial success was staggering, with Taco Bell selling 53 million orders in just five weeks, making Nacho Fries the most successful new launch in the company’s history. Their popularity has led Taco Bell to repeatedly bring them back, along with variations like the Jalapeño Ranch Nacho Fries that debuted in July.

While fans on social media agree that the Nacho Fries are already "delicious," a recent hack has emerged that further elevates the dish. The trick? Mix your favorite Taco Bell hot sauce packet directly into the nacho cheese sauce, creating an upgraded dipping experience for the seasoned fries.

This hack was introduced by Taco Bell customer Urchit Chokshi, who originally mixed in a hot sauce packet to stretch the amount of nacho cheese sauce he was given. “I feel like sometimes the Taco Bell cheese is not enough to cover the fries,” Chokshi told Eat This, Not That! “So in order to make do with what they gave me, I had to add a little bit more substance.”

Not only did the hot sauce add more volume to the cheese, but it also enhanced the flavor and texture. Chokshi described the result as "a little bit spicier" and "a little more liquidy," which created a "better consistency."

Taco Bell’s Simple Hot Sauce Hack Adds Bold Flavor and Convenience to Nacho Fries

One Nacho Fries devotee decided to try it out to see if this hack lived up to the hype. The verdict? It was a game-changer. Taco Bell's nacho cheese sauce is already creamy, cheesy, and flavorful. Still, adding the hot sauce brought a new dimension of spice and smokiness that hadn't been experienced before. The spicy sauce paired perfectly with the savory fries, seasoned with paprika, garlic, sweetness, and tang. As Chokshi noted, the hot sauce also thins the nacho cheese sauce, making it even better for dipping.

One of the standout aspects of this hack is its simplicity and convenience. This one is straightforward, unlike other fast-food hacks that require reassembling items or getting messy. Pour a hot sauce packet into the cheese cup, mix it with a fry, and enjoy.

While Nacho Fries are currently only available for a limited time, Taco Bell's Chief Marketing Officer Taylor Montgomery announced earlier this year that the chain is working on making Nacho Fries a permanent menu item. With that in mind, there’s no better time to start embracing this simple yet delectable hack.
