Italian Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani said his proposal put cyberattacks on the agenda for a Nov. 9-10 Paris meeting of Group of Seven (G7) foreign ministers, who will consider possible joint responses.

Reuters reported the attacks were suspected of coming from pro-Russian groups. Tajani said French Foreign Minister Jean-Noel Barrot agreed to include the issue after Tajani proposed it.

On Saturday, Tajani said hackers he described as pro-Russian had posted his personal data on the dark web. He linked the incident to Italy's support for Ukraine, Reuters reported.

Tajani said he had not assigned responsibility for the attacks to the Russian government and would do so only if evidence supported that conclusion.

He also described recent incidents in Europe and South America as “hybrid warfare.” He said G7 countries would discuss possible joint initiatives to counter them, Reuters reported.

EconoTimes had earlier reported that the G7 foreign ministers' meeting was moved to Paris. Talks are scheduled for Nov. 9-10.
