Tata Consumer Products reported higher quarterly revenue and owner-attributable profit, led by India, while two media reports gave different EBITDA figures that the company’s filing did not include.

Consolidated revenue from operations reached ₹5,661.13 crore (₹56.61 billion), compared with ₹4,965.90 crore a year earlier. Profit attributable to owners of the parent was ₹469.30 crore (₹4.69 billion), up from ₹404.46 crore. Including non-controlling interests, consolidated net profit was ₹470.14 crore. The board approved unaudited standalone and consolidated results for the quarter and half-year ended Sept. 30 on Oct. 26, and the statutory auditors conducted a limited review.

India business revenue rose to ₹3,666.13 crore from ₹3,122.15 crore, a 17% increase. Its segment results increased to ₹408.54 crore from ₹358.76 crore. Tata Consumer said stronger international and non-branded operations partly offset higher input costs in its India branded business.

Profit before exceptional items and tax was ₹632.28 crore, up from ₹523.28 crore. The quarter also included a ₹7.37 crore exceptional expense tied to an adjustment in contingent consideration paid for a business acquisition. The filing’s operating margin, calculated under its own definition, was 11.13%, compared with 10.51% a year earlier.

The EBITDA figures came from separate media reports: NDTV Profit put the quarter’s total at ₹804 crore and its margin at 14.2%, while The Economic Times reported ₹794 crore, up 18%. Tata Consumer’s filing does not state an EBITDA figure, so it does not resolve the difference.

Analyst profit estimates also differed. Reuters, citing LSEG data, reported an average estimate of ₹4.66 billion, while NDTV Profit reported ₹469 crore for profit and ₹5,583 crore for revenue.

Tata Consumer’s results call was scheduled for 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. EDT Monday, Oct. 26 (6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. IST).
