Tesla assigned a $158.36 billion grant-date value to CEO Elon Musk's 2025 stock awards, though that compensation total did not represent cash paid or shares unlocked during the year.

An interim award accounted for $26.06 billion of the total and was later voided. A long-term performance award accounted for the other $132.3 billion. Both figures reflect the awards' value when granted, rather than money paid to Musk.

Tesla's incentive plan included market-value and operating targets that the company did not meet. In 2025, Musk received no cash income, and none of his equity unlocked.
