‘The Americans’ season 5’s episode 7, titled “The Committee on Human Rights," will follow Paige as she is taken deeper into her parents’ world of espionage. Her involvement in the spy game will create more tension in her relationship with Matthew Beeman.
The synopsis for “The Committee on Human Rights" posted on TV Guide reads, “As Paige (Holly Taylor) becomes even more enmeshed in her parents' world, tensions with Matthew Beeman (Danny Flaherty) come to a head, Philip (Matthew Rhys) and Elizabeth's (Keri Russell) honeytraps take surprising turns, and Stan (Noah Emmerich) faces the consequences of overplaying his hand at the FBI.”
The upcoming episode of FX’s period drama television series is set to follow Paige as she becomes more involved in her parents’ underground world of espionage. This will cause trouble for her relationship with counterintelligence FBI Officer Stan Beeman’s son, Matthew. Stan, on the other hand, will begin to experience the consequences of his recent actions at the FBI.
The promo for episode 7 shows Paige finally taking up the courage to ask the right questions about their “family business.” She is told that her parents are more than just spies – they are heroes. In the previous episode, titled “Crossbreed,” Philip and Elizabeth took Paige to meet Gabriel (Frank Langella) before his retirement, according to the recap posted on the NY Times. It seems that Paige’s willingness to learn more about the world of espionage will uncover more secrets about Philip and Elizabeth, some of which are darker than others.
Perhaps Paige will also take on the role of a spy as she has already been groomed by her parents. Noah Emmerich, who plays Stan on the series, also expressed his opinions on Henry Jennings’ (Keidrich Sellati) possible transformation into a spy during an interview with Screener TV.
When asked about Philip and Elizabeth’s other child, Emmerich replied, “I can’t speak about the future, but I think he is a critical character on our show, and important to the family. Henry is equally as important and relevant as Paige, and we all look forward to that dynamic more.” Emmerich directed his co-stars in the season’s fifth episode, titled "Lotus 1-2-3."
Meanwhile, Philip and Elizabeth’s respective honeytrap missions will take on surprising turns in the upcoming episode.
‘The Americans’ season 5’s episode 7, titled “The Committee on Human Rights," is scheduled to air on FX on April 18, 2017. It was directed by Matthew Rhys and written by Hilary Bettis. It will be followed by episode 8, titled "Immersion," scheduled to be released on April 25 and directed by Kevin Bray.
