“The Blacklist” season 6 is on its way for sure despite the lack of details from its production team. When it arrives, it will definitely get the audience excited since they will finally get the answers to the biggest questions that the show left in the fifth installment's finale.

According to Entertainment Weekly, NBC confirmed "The Blacklist" Season 6’s renewal in May and the drama will offer 22 episodes in all. The network decided to order another set of episodes since the show recorded an average of 8.8 million in number of viewers and a 1.6 percent rating in the 18-49 demographic in the previous season. Such high viewership record has been maintained since it premiered in September 2013.

Moreover, although there have been very few reports about it, “The Blacklist” season 6 is actually in production already and filming has begun. With this detail, it can be assumed that the team has completed some episodes for the sixth installment.

Now, when “The Blacklist” season 6 is released, one of the most interesting scenes to watch out for is the mystery surrounding Raymond “Red” Reddington’s (James Spader) other daughter, Jennifer Reddington (Fiona Dourif). She could play a key role in uncovering the truth about the human bones in the duffel bag, so fans may see her back in the upcoming season.

Jennifer Reddington is not a regular character in “The Blacklist” and she only appeared in season 5. Red was looking for her for many years and the reason is still a mystery. Then again, Elizabeth Keen (Megan Boone) was able to learn that she and Jennifer are half-sisters but the latter is not very thrilled with the reality, even saying that it is too late for them to bond as sisters.

So, will Jennifer’s character return to “The Blacklist” season 6? She will because the show’s EP said so.

“This is a storyline that has been long gestating. It’s something we often talk about in the writers’ room: who that Jennifer character is, when would be a good time to bring her back,” executive producer Jon Bokenkamp told Variety. “As the story plays out you’ll see it’s a very organic, personal story and the reason for the ‘why now’ is a really compelling one.”

Meanwhile, “The Blacklist” season 6 has no release date yet but based on common predictions, it will be out next year. To be more specific, TV Guide reported that it is expected to arrive in January 2019.
