“The Curse of Oak Island” season 7 episode 21 is coming up next and fans will see the team moving to another location to dig. Previously, they started the works in borehole-8A and most of the experts in the team agreed that this is the most promising spot on the island.
Episode recap
Moreover, in the last episode titled “Springing the Trap,” the giant machine clamp lifted out a bunch of wood. In its next scoop, it yielded big chunks of wood which they say could be an oak. Some were also cut by an ax and this convinced everyone that they hit the collapsed shaft 6 tunnel that directly connects to the original Money Pit.
Elsewhere, Rick, Alex Lagina and Gary Drayton made a trip to the expert blacksmith Carmen Legge, to show what Gary and Alex found in the “eye of the swamp” plus the needle-like metal that came from borehole 8. Far from what Gary thought it was which he is said is a cribbing spike - Legge said that it seems to have come from a ship. It is something used in the sail to loosen or tighten the ties of the rope.
As for the needle-like metal, Legge said that it has no purpose as a tool but he can see it as an obstacle. He said that a number of them could have been embedded on top of the wood to protect what is beneath it. It is sort of another booby trap that was installed to prick anyone who comes near the chest or something valuable. This information surprised Rick because he said that they didn’t think of it that way.
Another find in the borehole is a small piece of metal. After sifting through the rocks and debris found in borehole 8A, they found a small metal and the expert said that the iron could be part of a strap hinge. It is quite small but could possibly point to where the treasure exactly sits. They think it is part of a smaller sized chest that was crushed and broken up when the original Money Pit collapsed in 1861.

The team will be moving to a new site as they already reached a dead end in borehole 8A. They were optimistic but after finding woods, there was nothing more to lift up but mud. Finally, “The Curse of Oak Island” season 7 episode 21 is airing on April 14 at 9 p.m. on History Channel.
