At this point, many details about “The Elder Scrolls 6” are still unknown. It is most likely because the game still has a long way to go before getting released. An online petition for Shirley Curry, a.k.a. “Skyrim” Grandma, reveals that some fans think the game will not come out in the next six years.
First, it is important to note that people from Bethesda have been honest to the fans that “The Elder Scrolls 6” will not be released anytime soon. While part of the gaming community can be quite demanding, others apparently already faced the reality that the sequel might even take until 2024 before going live.
In late 2018, a Change.org petition to make “immortalize Shirley Curry” as a non-playable character in “The Elder Scrolls 6” went viral. “Shirley Curry is an 82-year-old grandmother who runs her own channel on YouTube (with the help of her grandson). … Sadly, the next Elder Scrolls game won’t be released until Shirley is 88 years old, which means that unfortunately, she may not get to play it,” the petition, that gathered more than 49,000 signatures, read.

Bethesda has since confirmed at its PAX East panel last month that “Skyrim” Grandma will be an NPC in “The Elder Scrolls 6.” In Curry’s YouTube channel’s About section says her birthday is on April, which means she just turned 83 this week.
Meanwhile, fans’ expectation that “The Elder Scrolls 6” could only be released in 2024 seems plausible. It can be recalled that up to 2017, Bethesda has clearly said they have not started working on the game yet. But it was officially announced at E3 2018 that most likely means it has entered the early phase of development.
During PAX East, Todd Howard of Bethesda Game Studios reiterated they will be using a new game engine for “The Elder Scrolls 6” and their new IP “Starfield.” Fans will be able to measure how good (or bad) this game engine is, first, with “Starfield.” Last year, Howard also offered the possibility that “Starfield” could be developed for the next-generation consoles that are also yet to be announced.
"People are going to see [the tech] at first, actually, in ‘Starfield.’ And so that tech will have like the second version of it in [‘The Elder Scrolls 6’], and — before everyone asks — please be patient. It's going to be a long time,” Howard explained (via Gamespot).
