The last weekend marked the fifth anniversary of the first season of “The Irregular At Magic High School” finale. It is a milestone that fans probably does not prefer to have, but the truth is the production of “The Irregular At Magic High School” season 2 is still unconfirmed.
With that much hiatus, it might not make sense for anime producers to revive the series by jumping right into the sequel. In that case, it could be possible for fans to get a complete series reboot instead of “The Irregular At Magic High School” season 2, which does not sound bad at all.
‘The Irregular At Magic High School' season 2 renewed or canceled?
Whether in TV shows or movie industry, reboot titles appear to be the trend now and in the coming years. This anime series has maintained its fanbase with many of them still asking if “The Irregular At Magic High School” season 2 will ever be released.
As an example, the anime series “Fruits Basket” is one proof that reboot releases work well for anime titles, too. It was originally released in 2001 with 26 episodes. It did not have a sequel, but it was revived this year with almost the same episode count. Fans, old and new, showed support to the series that its second season was already confirmed just a day after the finale aired. It is then not too far-fetched that the same approach could be applied for “The Irregular At Magic High School” season 2.
‘The Irregular At Magic High School' season 2: What to expect
Looking at these two series, they have huge differences. For one, the predecessor of “The Irregular At Magic High School” season 2 was released not too long ago compared for “Fruits Basket.” Additionally, the first season was already followed by an anime film that served as a direct sequel and was only released in 2017.
The said movie also concluded with a surprise post-credits scene that hinted at the continuation of the light novel series’ animated adaptation. But the question remains if it would be “The Irregular At Magic High School” season 2 or just another movie.
