MINNEAPOLIS, Aug. 10, 2017 -- As part of its ongoing evolution to better meet the business needs of its clients, The Nerdery today announced the addition of R.J. Nicolosi as President. Nicolosi has been a member of The Nerdery’s advisory board for five years and will lead day-to-day operations, working closely with company co-founder and Chairman of the Board Mike Derheim. Tom O’Neill has stepped down from his role as CEO and has taken a position on the company’s board of advisors. The Nerdery has started its search for a new CEO and expects the process to take between four and six months.

“Tom has been a critical part of our success and he’ll continue to do so as part of our advisory board,” said Derheim. “During the last two years, we’ve transformed from a software vendor into a strategic technology partner for our clients. We’ve made progress in our transformation but it was in our best interest to bring in an outside leader who has experience with large-scale organizational transitions and can accelerate our evolution. We’re proud to have R.J. on the team to share his experience with us on a day-to-day basis.”
“I’ve had an affinity for the values and culture of The Nerdery since being introduced to Mike Derheim eight years ago,” said Nicolosi. “The organization has tremendous potential to grow and I’m excited to be a part of it through investing in our Nerds, our clients, their businesses and their customers.”
In addition to being part of The Nerdery’s board of advisors, Nicolosi ran the enterprise services, technology and special project lines of business at The Superior Group for the past three years. He has helped CEOs of high-growth companies run their businesses more effectively through the Inc. CEO Project and is on the board of advisors for mobile advertising technology company Gimbal as well as RevLocal, a digital marketing agency.
Today’s changes further The Nerdery’s ongoing evolution towards a strategic, technology- and experience-led consultancy that includes recent organizational structure changes and the addition of Adrian Slobin as Chief Strategy and Operating Officer.
