‘The Originals’ Season 4, Episode 4 Spoilers: “Keepers of the House” – Hayley Turns to Marcel for Help in Protecting Hope

‘The Originals’ season 4’s episode 4, titled “Keepers of the House,” will feature Hayley as she turns to Marcel for help in protecting her daughter, Hope.

The lengthy synopsis for “Keepers of the House” posted on TV Guide reads, “Hayley (Phoebe Tonkin), desperate to save her daughter, turns to Marcel (Charles Michael Davis) for help uncovering information about the mysterious force that has set its sights on the children of New Orleans.

Elijah (Daniel Gillies) and Vincent (Yusuf Gatewood) join the hunt, which puts them on a dangerous collision course with an unlikely new threat. Meanwhile, Freya (Riley Voelkel) and Keelin (Christina Moses) are forced to put aside their differences when they embark on a journey that may alter the power dynamic in New Orleans forever.”

In the upcoming episode, Hayley’s desperation to protect her daughter Hope (Summer Montana) from a dark force will force her to turn to Marcel for help. Her romance with Elijah will have to be set aside for awhile as she struggles to keep Hope safe.

During an interview with TVLine, Tonkin explained her character’s state of affairs in the current season. The actress admitted that although Hayley missed Elijah in the five years that they’re been apart, Hope’s safety remains her top priority.

Tonkin explained, “As much as Hayley is happy to have [Elijah] back, her priority is still Hope’s safety. She can’t focus on a romantic relationship that might become too time-consuming. … As her daughter gets older and becomes a little human being, Hayley becomes even more protective. So that’s her focus, to protect her kid.”

Executive producer Michael Narducci also said, “It’s the height of selfishness and irresponsibility to not put [Hope’s] needs and concerns first. I’m not saying Hope is an obstacle to anyone’s happiness — far from it, since she’s the source of their inspiration and possibly their redemption — but she’s going to be the center of a lot of what’s going on moving forward.”

It was reported that Eva (Maisie Richardson-Sellers) has turned her attention on Hope after targeting children as human sacrifices. It will be up to the Mikaelson clan to stop her plans from coming into fruition.

‘The Originals’ season 4’s episode 4, titled “Keepers of the House,” is scheduled to air on The CW on April 7, 2017. It was directed by Joseph Morgan and written by Beau DeMayo and Christopher Hollier. It will be followed by episode 5, titled "I Hear You Knocking," scheduled to be released on April 14 and directed by Chris Grismer.
