‘The Walking Dead’ season 7B dropped new photographs teasing Rick’s impending war against Negan and the Saviors. The second half’s official synopsis has recently been released.
In the photographs posted on E! News, it looks like Rick (Andrew Lincoln) and his allies from Alexandria are gearing up for war against Negan (Jeffrey Dean-Morgan) and his notorious Saviors in the next half of season 7.
One of the images showed Rick surrounded by Carl (Chandler Riggs), Maggie (Lauren Cohan), Daryl (Norman Reedus), Michonne (Danai Gurira), Sasha (Sonequa Martin-Green), Jesus (Tom Payne), and the rest of his companions in Gregory's (Xander Berkeley) foyer at the Hilltop Colony.
Another image showed an armed Rick leading Michonne, Tara (Alanna Masterson), and the others through some thick foliage while the third photograph showed Rick standing in arms with hands on his hips, seemingly deep in thought.
An excerpt from Season 7B’s synopsis posted on Forbes reads, “The first half of Season 7 saw Rick and the group broken by Negan, forced to fall under his will and brutally convinced to live under his rules. The second half of the season will focus on preparing for war and gathering the supplies and numbers to take Negan down once and for all.
“Rick’s group will find out yet again that the world isn’t what they thought it was. It’s much bigger than anything they’ve seen so far. While they have a singular purpose - to defeat Negan - it won’t come easy.”
The synopsis also promised that new survivors from other communities will also be introduced. Season 7’s episode 6, titled “Swear,” introduced members of Oceanside, specifically Natania (Deborah May), Cyndie (Sydney Park), Rachel (Mimi Kirkland), and Beatrice (Briana Venskus).
The latest trailer hinted at Rick’s plans for an uprising against Negan and the Saviors. It featured Rick’s group is seen standing along King Ezekiel (Khary Payton) teasing Alexandria’s possible alliance with the Kingdom. Rick also calls on other communities including the Kingdom and Hilltop to unite and end Negan’s reign of terror.
‘The Walking Dead’ season 7B is expected to return to AMC on February 12, 2017 in the United States and to Fox on February 13, 2017 in the UK.
