“This Is Us” season 3 episode 11 is the start of a two-part story focused on introducing the grown-up Nicky (Michael Angarano). Meanwhile, Rebecca (Mandy Moore), Kevin (Justin Hartley), Kate (Chrissy Metz), and Randall (Sterling K. Brown) will have to deal with Jack’s (Milo Ventimiglia) long-kept secrets.
Viewers have been uncovering more and more details about Jack and Nicky’s tour of duty in Vietnam in the entire third season of NBC’s family drama. Along the way, it also became apparent how much secrets Jack took with him to the grave. And they will keep on piling up in “This Is Us” season 3 episode 11.
The official synopsis for “This Is Us” season 3 episode 11 simply indicates that Rebecca and the Big Three will start dealing with everything Jack decided not to tell them. The episode summary also hints there will be more flashback scenes set in Vietnam next week.
While the teaser for “This Is Us” season 3 episode 11 does not mention Nicky, the arc’s title “Songbird Road” hints at the looming introduction of the grown-up version of Jack’s baby brother. CarterMatt reports that it pertains to a real road located in Bradford, Pennsylvania where Nicky currently resides.

The truth that Nicky is alive was revealed by the end of the season 3 winter finale. Viewers saw the grown-up Nicky’s silhouette before he combed through a pile of mail that showed his address in Bradford, PA. Meanwhile, it is still unknown if Nicky’s full reveal happens in “This Is Us” season 3 episode 11. But, as it appears now, only Nicky could explain why Jack decided to keep important details from his family.
The show has had the tradition of using prosthetics to present the characters in their advanced age. So, presumably, this could also be applied for the older Nicky. But when asked if Angarano will also play the part, co-showrunner Isaac Aptaker told THR, “That we are not allowed to discuss just yet.” “This Is Us” season 3 episode 11 will air on Tuesday, Jan. 22, at 9 p.m. ET on NBC.
