Conservative incumbent Bruce Banman is among three registered candidates in Abbotsford South, a contest in British Columbia’s 2026 provincial election for seats in a 93-member legislature, Global News reported.

The outlet lists Banman as Conservative, Leah Ballantyne as NDP and Robin Roy as OneBC. It says the provincial legislature has 93 seats, with 47 required for a party to secure a majority.

The report said David Eby, leader of the BC NDP, called the snap election in September. Municipal elections were held Oct. 17; the provincial election is scheduled for Oct. 24. The previous provincial election was two years earlier.
