‘Timeless’ Season 1, Episode 10 Spoilers: "The Capture of Benedict Arnold" – Team Revisits 18th Century America, Learn Shocking Revelations

‘Timeless’ season 1’s episode 10, entitled "The Capture of Benedict Arnold," will feature the team as they revisit 18th century America where they learn shocking revelations about the country’s very first traitor. They may have to face challenges that threaten to split their group apart.

The synopsis for episode 10 posted on Den of Geek reads, “A stunning turn during the American Revolution prompts Lucy (Abigail Spencer), Wyatt (Matt Lanter), and Rufus (Malcolm Barrett) to question whether they've been fighting on the wrong side this whole time.

While Agent Christopher (Sakina Jaffrey) prepares for the worst back in present day, the team encounters the Father of the Country (Damian O'Hare), makes a dubious pact, and confronts the possibility they may not be a trio for long.”

The promo for the incoming fall finale opens with Lucy and her companions encountering General George Washington as they are brought back to 18th century America. In the next scene, Lucy makes a shocking discovery as she asks, “Benedict Arnold was a member of Rittenhouse?” By the end of the promo, Flynn (Goran Visnjic) is threatening to pull the trigger on Lucy as she begs for her life.

It seems that the trio will face great revelations about America’s first traitor. Benedict Arnold was a general who fought in the American Revolutionary War. Although he initially fought for the American Continental Army, he defected to the British Army.

Although he was known to be an early American hero of the revolutionary War, he grew notoriety as America’s very first traitor after he switched sides and aided the enemy. In the year 1779, he made secret negotiations with the British to turn over the U.S. post at West Point in return for money and a place in the British army.

As Lucy, Wyatt, and Rufus delve deeper into U.S. history, they may become awash with doubts as to whether they were fighting for the right side this entire time. According to Carter Matt, they will begin to question the truth behind historical facts as well as their faith in one another as a team. Perhaps the trio will finally be split up.
