South Korean stocks fell broadly Thursday, with a 5.6% loss for the KOSPI and sell-side trading curbs on the KOSPI and KOSDAQ during the same session.

SK Hynix dropped 10%, a loss 4.4 percentage points greater than the KOSPI’s decline. The KOSPI is South Korea’s benchmark stock index. The triggers affected both indexes, while the chipmaker’s shares fell more sharply than the benchmark.

The July 29 selloff was more severe. The KOSPI traded more than 10% lower at one point that day, and SK Hynix lost close to 16%. The Nov. 5 declines were smaller for both the index and the semiconductor company.

EconoTimes previously covered a sell-side sidecar during a 3.48% KOSPI decline.
