Truist Financial Corporation is consolidating work handled by multiple suppliers in India as Infosys expands the U.S. bank’s Hyderabad center, a move aimed at bringing AI, technology, data and operations together.

Infosys announced Oct. 19 that it is extending its work with Truist to support the AI-focused global capability center in Hyderabad. The companies said Truist plans to bring work spread across its suppliers in India under one operating structure.

Infosys said the arrangement uses a Build, Operate and Transfer enablement model. It will help the bank develop a self-sustaining center of excellence, with the structure intended to reduce dependence on third-party providers and help manage global delivery complexity. Truist’s stated aims include improving client experiences and empowering employees.

Moneycontrol reported that the Hyderabad center exceeded 1,400 employees within six months, citing an interview with Truist Chief Technology and Operations Officer Steve Hagerman. The outlet said that figure was below half of the bank’s envisioned near-term staffing goal and reported that Truist had not disclosed a specific headcount target.

Moneycontrol also reported that some existing supplier arrangements would continue as a portion of the work moves to the center in phases. Hagerman called the center “a strategic investment in Truist’s future” in the Infosys announcement.

Infosys said its work would draw on its financial services experience, AI capabilities and Topaz offering. The companies did not disclose financial terms. Truist reported total assets of $556 billion as of June 30, 2026.

The companies plan an event later this month to recognize a workforce milestone of more than 1,000 colleagues onboarded, according to Infosys. The announcement did not characterize that milestone as net hiring.
