President Donald Trump said he held 14 rallies over a nine-day span before the Nov. 3 midterms and defended U.S. health plans in a Sunday interview.

Trump gave the rally count while discussing Republicans’ chances with Larry Kudlow on Fox News Channel’s Sunday Morning Futures, The Independent reported. Kudlow asked whether Republicans could retain their majorities in the House and Senate; Trump described his campaign pace as demanding.

Trump also called U.S. health care plans the world’s best, while acknowledging that some people lack coverage. He said many people were covered.

The Independent described the campaign appearances as an effort to energize Trump’s supporters and improve Republican prospects. It reported that the campaign was unfolding amid an unpopular war in Iran and cost pressures facing Americans.

A New York Times/Siena College poll cited by The Independent put Trump’s approval at 34% the previous week. The outlet described that as the lowest rating for a president approaching midterm elections since Harry Truman in 1946. Trump disputed recent polling in a Washington Examiner interview with Byron York published Saturday, calling the figures “fake” and saying his support was closer to 60%, The Independent reported.

The midterm elections are scheduled for Nov. 3.
